SUMMER READING PROGRAM

Summer Reading Program is open to all; no library card is required. Register for the library’s Summer Reading Program by visiting any of the three library locations or online at http://naperville.readsquared.com/ .
• Participants can read or listen to books, or attend summer learning clubs to complete program levels.
• When a program level is completed, visit the library to receive a prize (books and coupons) as well as entries into prize drawings.
• The last day to complete the program and receive prizes is Aug. 15.

The museum’s early learning specialist and community access coordinator will provide play facilitation techniques utilizing portable versions of full-sized exhibits. In addition, library staff will demonstrate the power of play through storytimes during this drop-in program, with a room limit of 30. Crazy Self Portraits for Tweens (95th)

Young artists will draw a self- portrait using a black marker, cut it into geometric shapes and reassemble the portrait in an untraditional way. Students will explore line drawing, texture and creative collage á la Picasso in this program of exploratory art. This program is for students in 4th through 6th grades and is limited to 24 participants.

May 24 - “Emily’s Fortune” by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
Visit the library for a child-and-parent book discussion group. The child and parent/adult will read the selected book together and then attend the club’s meeting to discuss it with others while enjoying a cookie or two. Each book will be chosen at the preceding meeting and listed on the library’s website. The library will have multiple copies of each title available for checkout. For children in 3rd through 6th grades. Program is limited to 15 child/parent pairs.

Practice using efficient features in Microsoft Excel that will make it easier to calculate formulas, analyze trends and apply formatting in spreadsheets. *Program requires advance registration with a fee and is limited to 12 participants.
This class has a non-refundable attendance fee that must be paid at the time of registration. This class is appropriate for adults and students age 13 or older unless otherwise noted. Registration for these classes are taken at the computer lab desks.
