YA March Madness 2017 Voting

It’s March Madness time, but instead of NCAA basketball, the brackets are full of young adult books. Thirty-two YA and manga titles from 2016 have been selected and placed in the YA Book March Madness Brackets. On Feb. 28, teens can start casting their ballots for their favorite YA titles in the first round through the library’s website, www.naperville-lib.org  Each week, the field will be narrowed down to the final showdown on March 27, and a YA March Madness champion will be crowned on April 4! Check the library website each week to cast a vote!

Read Aloud Book Club (95th)

Reading aloud is a long-standing social tradition. Historically, families often read together as a form of entertainment and factory workers had books read to them as a way to relieve the tedium. Naperville Public Library is reaching out in that tradition with its adult Read Aloud Book Club for those who wish to enjoy and explore the written word in this historical format. The book club is open to all adult readers, especially those who are learning English. The books will be read at a pace determined by the group and limited copies will be available at the 95th St. Library adult services desk. *Program requires advance registration.

College Illinois! 529 Prepaid Tuition Information Session (NIC)

The College Illinois! Prepaid Tuition Program allows individuals to set up a plan to pay for college tuition and mandatory fees at current contract rates to avoid tuition inflation. The program was created to help make college a reality for Illinois residents by providing a plan of action to prepare for college. A representative from ISAC (Illinois Student Assistance Commission) will explain the program and answer questions.

Volunteer Tax Assistance (Notre Dame Club) (95th)

VOLUNTEER TAX ASSISTANCE FROM THE NOTRE DAME CLUB OF GREATER DUPAGE - Get free tax return preparation and e-filing for low-income families and individuals. Household income should be less than $54,000 a year. Participants must bring the following paperwork in order to receive assistance in preparing their 2016 tax returns: Proof of identification, Social Security cards for all members of the household, Wage and Earning Statements (W-2) or retirement income statements (SSA-1099 or 1099-R), interest income from banks (Form 1099), proof of health insurance coverage (Form 1095) and a copy of 2015 federal income tax return. Appointments will not be accepted, and clients will be assisted on a first-come, first-served basis. Numbers will be given out at the main entrance prior to when the library opens.
