Wordplay, an Open Mic program named and modeled after Chicago's longest running youth open mic held by Young Chicago Authors, is a safer/braver space for young people to speak their truth through spoken word, story-telling, comedy, music, etc. The event begins with a creative writing workshop taught by one of our Teaching Artists, followed by the open mic (youth under 25 are prioritized on the list) and a featured artist. Participants are free to attend all or part of the program, which is always free and open to all ages. (Parent discretion advised for youth under 12). For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or Adam Gottlieb (curriculum director of T-WAAP) email@example.com. Presented by Teen Writer's and Artists Project.
