Teen Winter Reading Contest

Read a book or listen to an audiobook, then go to the teen page of the library’s website to submit the title and author. Teens can submit up to six titles and will be entered in a drawing for a chance to win fun prizes like a winter reading themed-prize basket or an Amazon gift card. Students in 6th through 12th grades with a Naperville Public Library card or who attend school in Naperville (including Districts 203 & 204).

Wordplay (95th)

Wordplay, an Open Mic program named and modeled after Chicago's longest running youth open mic held by Young Chicago Authors, is a safer/braver space for young people to speak their truth through spoken word, story-telling, comedy, music, etc. The event  begins with a creative writing workshop taught by one of our Teaching Artists, followed by the open mic (youth under 25 are prioritized on the list) and a featured artist. Participants are free to attend all or part of the program, which is always free and open to all ages. (Parent discretion advised for youth under 12). Practice using great features that will make it easier to calculate formulas, analyze trends and apply formatting in spreadsheets. *Register with fee.

This class has a non-refundable fee that must be paid at the time of registration. Classes are appropriate for adults and students ages 13 or older unless otherwise noted. Registration is taken at the computer lab desks. Participants can transfer to another class with one week’s notice. If individuals cannot attend a class, please inform the computer lab staff so a customer on the waiting list may attend.
The fees for these classes are:
Naperville Public Library card holders: $10
Non-Naperville Public Library card holders: $20
